Search for other members

A basic search allows you to quickly find members within an area from one of our 3 dating categories: casual dating, committed relationship, and strictly physical. Our advanced search allows you to be much more specific, such as searching for members based on their averaged In-Person Ratings, taken from votes of other members. In addition, you can save your search criteria as well as add members to your “Favourites” list so you can easily find their profile at any time.

Contact other members

While at Plural, you can initiate contact with someone by sending an email. The email will be sent to the recipient’s mailbox without revealing your email address or contact information. Another option to get a member’s attention is to show interest by Flirting with them. This will direct them to your profile, and let them know you’re interested.

In-Person Ratings system

WHAT IS IT?

In-Person Ratings is a ratings system intended to be used once a member has met another member in person. It is made up of 4 different categories: Personality, Appearance, Intelligence, and Reliability -- or "PAIR" for short.

HOW DO I RATE ANOTHER MEMBER?

After you’ve met someone in-person, click on the “rate this member” link from their profile to rate them. It’s not mandatory and there’s no deadline for rating another member so you can rate them whenever you feel comfortable to do so. Rate them in as little or as many of the 4 categories as you like. You can always go back at a later time and rate a member on other categories in which you have not yet rated them on. However, keep in mind that you can only rate someone once for each category, so be sure to rate them wisely. Ratings are on a scale of 1-10 (low-high). NOTE: When you rate a member it is completely anonymous; the person being rated will not be able to see your individual ratings of them – all they see is their total combined ratings for each category (taken as an average of all ratings in each category.

HOW ARE RATINGS CALCULATED?

On a scale of 1-10 (low-high), your rating for a particular category is the average of all ratings submitted for you in that category. The average rating will show up in your profile, but only after at least 3 different members have rated you in a particular category. This, as well as the fact that each member can only rate another member once in any category, minimizes the chances of skewed ratings.

SHOW OR HIDE YOUR IN-PERSON RATINGS

If you do not feel comfortable having your ratings shown, you have the option of hiding your ratings so that other members will not be able to see your ratings. You can toggle this option at any time by clicking on the "SHOW/HIDE" link within the Main menu.

INCLUDE IN-PERSON RATINGS IN YOUR SEARCH

Tired of meeting people who are not really like you at all when you meet them in person?

That’s where the In-Person Ratings search (under Advanced options within the Search page) comes in!!
By including In-Person Ratings in your search you can look for members who have been rated by other members in the following categories: Personality, Appearance, Intelligence, and Reliability (or P.A.I.R. for short). This lets you find other people who have similar In-Person Ratings as you!

Members are placed into three groups for each category:
A, B, or C. (A = an average rating of 8 or higher, B = an average rating of greater than or equal to 5 and less than 8, and C = an average rating of less than 5).

The idea is that if you are in the same groups for each category as another member, chances are you'll make a good P.A.I.R.!  :-)
